[He beams as he starts carefully setting up the scope and tripod.] that's a great idea, bro. the field of vision might be a bit narrow, but i can fix that. think i saw an eyepiece in here designed for cameras.
[He's very cautious and attentive as he puts together the scope. It's probably one of the few times Papyrus has seen him pay close attention to something. One loose screw and pieces could start to fall off, though, or the tripod could buckle. Can't go ruining the best telescope he's ever owned right after getting it.]
hee hee, you'd be right. star clusters are kinda like...star families. there's two different kinds. one kind is all very old stars, all closely packed together. the other kind is for new, baby stars. there's usually fewer of them then, but they're a lot brighter. and they're more spread out, so they make neat patterns. kinda like tiny constellations. and nebulae are these colorful clouds left over after a star dies. sometimes the clouds start to form new stars. it's this cyclical thing.
[He'd normally be way, way less into talking about any of this, even around Papyrus. It's nerd stuff, and no one really likes hearing about nerd stuff. Plus he's Sans. He's not really...supposed to get passionate about anything. Not like this.]
[But Papyrus wouldn't have gotten him the scope if he didn't already know how much this all means to Sans. And he's gotten a bit better about talking about things he likes. Part of that whole honesty thing.]
oh, and...i haven't shown you a binary star yet, have i?
[That was the last Papyrus.]
i gotta find a binary star tonight and show you. they're neat.
